Opening: 2 May 2024, at 12 noon CET
End: 7 June 2024, at 5 pm CET
Winning projects announced: 20 September 2024
Timeframe for producing projects: within two years of the date of signature of the collaboration agreement between the ”la Caixa” Foundation and the winning artists.
At the ”la Caixa” Foundation we support artists by helping them produce works of art.
The ”la Caixa” Foundation’s commitment to contemporary art includes its prestigious Contemporary Art Collection, now approaching its fifth decade, and its Support for Creation programme, which comprises, since 2012, the Comisart call for projects by young curators and, since 2018, the Production call for projects by young artists.
Its two-yearly Support for Creation’24: Production initiative aspires to become a benchmark programme of support for artists in Spain and Portugal in need of funding and professional assistance to produce a work of art that will then be actively promoted.
This programme is aimed at artists and groups of artists aged 18 or over with Spanish or Portuguese nationality or residency who already have a new project in mind or under way in collaboration with a third party (museum, art centre or other kind of nonprofit art institution) and who need support to produce a work of art.
In addition to submitting their project proposal and timetable, artists should also draw up a budget (broken down into production costs and artist’s fees) and should have already secured an undertaking by a third party to exhibit the finished work of art and/or to promote it in some other way in the future.
The winning artists will have two years to produce their work of art, during which time they will be able to draw upon the resources and expertise of the ”la Caixa” Foundation’s exhibitions team.
The finished projects will be assessed by the ”la Caixa” Foundation’s Acquisitions Committee, which will decide whether or not to acquire any of them for the ”la Caixa” Collection of Contemporary Art.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
