New! Work4Progress kicks off in Colombia

The Fundación Grupo Social and the ”la Caixa” Foundation are jointly promoting the Work4Progress programme in the region of Necoclí, Colombia, with the aim of promoting innovation to foster employment and the entrepreneurial ecosystem. To this end, we have opened a call for proposals aimed at networks of organizations that present proposals for the generation of quality employment for women and young people in the agro-industry and tourism sectors.

We promote innovation to foster sustainable, good quality employment among women and young adults in India, Mozambique and Peru.

What we do

The Work4Progress programme. Innovation to foster employment aims to identify the challenges and needs in employment and, by supporting innovative solutions, help to create businesses and jobs, with particular emphasis on vulnerable women and young adults.

To achieve this, we're supported by the networks of local organisations.

Where we act

According to the International Labour Organisation, at present 2 of every 5 young adults in the world are unemployed and this figure is even higher among women, whose chance of finding a job is up to 27 % worse than men.

The Work4Progress programme therefore targets young adults and women in India, Mozambique and Peru.

How we do it

  • By taking advantage of the networks of organisations that work together to develop prototypes in the field in order to test their viability and identify the most efficient job creation initiatives.

  • Promoting innovation in products, services and/or processes.

  • Generating a new collaborative culture between organisations working in the same locality in order to boost their impact and create sustainable actions.

  • Incorporating new measures for constant monitoring and assessment to adapt the programme in real time to the particular needs of each location. This monitoring of initiatives provides more insight into the communities and assesses the impact of each action focused on improving employability.
