We help to improve the life expectancy of the most vulnerable populations, with a particular focus on children living in fragile situations in Africa.
What we do
The Child Survival programme aims to promote improvements in life expectancy, particularly for children and women living in conditions of extreme poverty and vulnerability.
To achieve this, we support networks of organisations in the programme's countries of operation that contribute to ending preventable deaths of babies and children under 5, and to reducing the global maternal mortality rate.
Where do we work
We work in countries in sub-Saharan Africa, the region that accounts for the largest share of deaths of children under 5 (58 %) and maternal deaths (70 %).
How do we do it
Promoting networks of organisations that work together to carry out projects offering possible solutions to the main causes of maternal and child mortality.
Encouraging innovation in products, services, and processes.
Building a new culture of collaboration among organisations working in the same geographic area, with the goal of increasing their impact and creating sustainable actions.
Organising international reference events in partnership with key organisations in the field of child survival.
Incorporating new processes of ongoing monitoring and evaluation that allow the programme to be adapted in real time to the needs of each location and to generate a deeper understanding of the communities where projects are developed.
