We help to improve the life expectancy of the most vulnerable populations, with a particular focus on children living in fragile situations in Africa.

What we do

The aim of the Child Survival programme is to foster improvements in the life expectancy of millions of people, in particular children and women living in conditions of extreme poverty and vulnerability.

To achieve our aim, we support networks of organisations that help put an end to preventable deaths of newborns and children under five years of age and to reduce the global maternal mortality rate.

Where we act

We act principally in sub-Saharan Africa, the region that concentrates the highest proportion of deaths among under-fives (56.7%).

How we do it

  • By fostering networks of organisations that work together on developing prototypes in the field to test their feasibility and identify initiatives that improve health and access to health services in the countries in question.

  • Promoting innovation in products, services and/or processes.

  • Creating a new collaborative culture among organisations working in the same geographical area in order to enhance their impact and produce sustainable actions.

  • Organising important international events in partnership with key organisations in the field of global health.

  • Incorporating new procedures to follow-up and constantly evaluate actions so that programme can be adapted in real time to the needs of each location, as well as to improve insight into the communities where the projects are implemented.
