Having high expectations is the best thing that can happen to your team, turning it into a super team.

The Bridge by EduCaixa is a programme based on Venture Philanthropy that helps to promote projects in initial development phases, with a clear value proposition and MVP, which are ready to market-test and improve to maximize impact.

Key points

  • Two heads are better than one. Projects must be developed by a team of at least two people aged between 18 and 30.

  • Helping to improve the world is the goal. We're looking for projects that tackle social and environmental challenges via sustainable and scalable business models.

  • And we really mean it. The team must be committed and have clear leadership. If you've read this far, it's a good sign.

Requirements of the call

You're just what we're looking for if:

  • You're an enthusiastic team with clear leadership and a project that has an impact and focus on society.

  • You have an innovative proposal that resolves a specific problem in a different way to the market's existing projects.

  • The impact you want to achieve is clear and the business model in line with this.

  • The project is at an initial development phase to which The Bridge can add value, with a clear vision of its stakeholders, clients, users and/or suppliers, with potential for medium-long term impact.

In addition, to be eligible, teams must meet the following requirements:

  • Any for-profit or non-profit organisation applying must be less than four years old. Both individuals and corporate bodies may apply.

  • Only one application may be submitted per team.

  • The team developing the project must be resident and operate in Spain.

  • Each project must have a representative:

    • If the team's shortlisted, it must attend and take part in the online diagnostic and mentoring sessions, as well as attend the on-site Pitch Day in Barcelona on 28 November 2023.

    • If the team's selected, it must attend and take part in the three face-to-face events to be held in January, February and March 2024 in the cities of Barcelona, Madrid and Malaga.

Submit your application as from 6 September via ”la Caixa” Foundation's call platform.

    • A diagnosis of the project by Ship2B.

    • 3 mentoring days.

    • Online training.

    • €4,000 if not selected for the next phase.

  • PHASE 3: Final.

The Pitch Day will be held in Barcelona on 29 November and the 20 shortlisted teams will present their project to the funding committee.

More information

  • How should the communication materials be disseminated?

In order to communicate more effectively, we recommend the first step should be to carry out a mailing to inform students of the details of the call.

Then publish the downloadable posts about the call on all social media channels, taking into account the text proposed for publication contained in the Recommendations for promoting the call on social media.

We'd also recommend printing the call posters in A4 or A3 format to publicise the call at the university or centre.

  • How should the results of the posts be reported?

”la Caixa” Foundation is very grateful for your assistance in promoting calls among anyone who might be interested. To optimise the communication materials, we'd like you to help and, as far as possible, provide us with some important information about the pieces posted on your channels: a description of the audience reached, screenshots of posts on social media and the language in which your posts were published.
